Everyone needs to read 20 pages tonight.  It is only 20 because we did not have class time to read.  The Reading Queens need to finish their book tonight.  Thanks for a super fun day!  There is no sticky note reading thinking homework tonight.  If you didn’t do yesterday’s homework, then yes you have a sticky note assignment to do tonight.

Many students need to finish their 3 reason paragraphs for their memoir essay.  The essay is on google classroom in writing.  Students that don’t have access to a computer can come in early tomorrow or work on paper.  Thanks!

Hello Everyone!

I forgot to snap a picture of the sticky note assignment.  Sorry!

Students need to analyze their book club for one of the themes in the story.  A theme is a central idea or an author’s message.  Then students need to find at least 2 pieces of evidence in the text that supports that theme.

Example:

One of the themes in Wonder is to choose kindness.  Many of the characters show how choosing kindness is not only the right thing to do, but the thing that can really make a difference.  Summer shows this when she decides to sit by Auggie at lunch and just get to know him as a person.  Jack shows this when he sticks up for Auggie and stands up to Julian.  Auggie often chooses to be kind to others because I think he really sees the world in a different way.
