Acts of Kindness can Change the World

When you are kind your body produces endorphins, which is the brain’s natural painkiller. You will become less stressed and you will actually age two times slower than the average person. In the animated short Joy and Heron the theme is always kind. Joy meets Heron and at first, thinks that Heron wants to destroy the fishing trip by taking worms.  Soon Joy learns the real reason that Heron needs the worms.  Joy then participates in a true act of kindness that really makes a difference for others.

Early in the animated short Joy and Heron, the theme was always be kind.  In the story, Joy jumps with excitement when she sees a dragonfly buzz by.  She is grinning with kindness. She is just naturally curious and her first reaction is to grin at everything, including the dragonfly. Soon Heron comes to the boat and Joy responds with a big grin.  Joy’s tail wagged a lot as she smiled at Heron.  At the beginning of the movie, there is a lot of kind moments with Joy.

In the middle of the animated short Joy and Heron, the theme was always be kind. Joy growls at Heron to show kindness to the owner.  Joy growled to make Heron leave and to warn the owner. Joy fights in the tug-o-war to show kindness to the owner.

At end of the animated short Joy and Heron, the theme was always kind. Joy watches Heron fly to her babies. She is filled with empathy as she learned that Heron needs worms to feed the hungry babies.  Joy gives Heron a pile of worms to feed her babies.  Joy grabs a whole pile of worms and puts it on the edge of the boat. Heron takes the worms away and the babies are thrilled to have food.  This simple act of kindness saved the day for the hungry babies.

It is important to be considerate to others to help make our world a better place. Living in a kind environment feels better for everyone. This makes me think that when people are kind it can help people in ways we might not even know. Acts of kindness can spread quickly and have a powerful impact. In this animated short Joy and Heron, the theme of looking out for others shows how important it is to be kind-hearted.

What is an act of kindness that you have done?

Curiosity leads to Joy

Have you ever seen a dog that likes to go fishing?  In the short animated movie Joy and Heron the character Joy is joyful. In the movie Joy and Heron Joy, the dog wanted to enjoy fishing with his owner. Heron interrupted the fun by trying to take worms.  In the end, they worked it out.

At the beginning of the short film, Joy was joyful.  Joy jumped in the boat and barked happily at the dragonflies with his tail was wagging. Next, Joy smiled when Heron came to the edge of the boat.  Even though Joy had never met Heron, her first instinct was to smile.

In the middle of the short film, Joy continued to be joyful. Joy finds happiness in even the most dire of times. There was a tug-o-war between Joy and Heron.  Joy was relieved when Heron did not win the worm.  The owner scared Heron with the oar.  Joy responded with a pleased grin because Heron went away.  Joy also seemed to like that her owner was looking out for her.

At the end of the animated short Joy was still joyful.  Joy gave Heron a pile of worms and then watched happily as Heron fed her babies.  Heron brought fish to Joy and dumped lots of fish on his head. Joy was thrilled.  Then Joy looked at her owner and grinned. The owner petted Joy and showed his gratitude.

Joy absolutely seemed excited with every little thing in life.  She is easily entertained and finds pure joy in simple things.  This is important because sometimes people take life too seriously and they should pause and see the joy in life.   Joy shows the powerful importance of noticing others and thinking of ways that you can add to the joy of their lives.

What is something you are joyful or curious about?  Why are you joyful or curious about that thing?

*This essay was from the PM class- AM class also wrote a great essay about Joy being curious.

Be Kind No Matter What

Famous Guest Blogger- Kailonna!

Front desk

In the story of Front Desk the theme is to be kind to everyone no matter what.

Mia helped Jason when he was getting teased by other boys. they were calling him “Chinese dough boy” witch isn’t kind.

Also Mia wrote a note to Lupe saying sorry

To Lupe. Because she being rude and Mia. said in the note if Lupe will not do the contest with her but Lupe said she would not do the contest but she will help Mia with her grammer.

Would you ever be rude to someone?

Theme of Front Desk: Kindness

Guest Blogger: Rhader

The theme of Front Desk is being kind. I think this because in the story it says that Mia helped Jason when he was being teased, kids were calling him a Chinese dough boy. This is important because it shows how Mia is nice, even to someone like Jason who is mean to her sometimes.

Mia also made a note that says that Lupe can go to the contest. This shows kindness because Mia is giving Lupe a chance to win the contest. One more example of kindness is when Mia was walking home from school and saw her mom on the sidewalk bleeding. She was very scared. This is important because it shows that Mia really really loves her mom.

Have you ever had this same experience too?
